From the top of the Combatseline chairlift, join the bisse de Chervé, towards Cleuson. The bisse de Chervé is the highest and most alpine of the bisses in the region, with the entire path above 2,200 metres. The bisse does not contain water and is no longer in use.

After about 45 minutes of walking along this bisse, you can admire the Cleuson dam and its turquoise water. Follow the same narrow path with a stunning view over the lake of the dam until it crosses a wider path at a place called «La Gouille».

Here, the bravest will continue to the left to climb up to the St-Laurent mountain cabin. The others can turn right to start their descent, which begins by following the track that runs the length of the lake before reaching the dam wall.

Cross the wall, then follow a steep path down to the right which zigzags down under the dam wall.

Once you've reached the foot of the dam wall, follow the signposts towards Siviez.

Useful information

- You also have the opportunity to have a guided tour of the dam on Fridays during the summer months (in french only, signups are available until on Wednesday at 17:00 via the Nendaz Tourism Office, +41 (0) 27 289 55 89).
